What Causes Painful Rashes On Buttock When Diagnosed With Entamoeba Histolytica Infection?

Parasitic infections commonly associated with allergic rashes
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Welcome to health care magic.
Based on the details mentioned in your query, I am suspecting allergic rashes which are common in parasitic infections.
Effective treatment of the parasitic infection will automatically reduce the allergic rashes associated with it.
Please provide details about the treatment you have received for E.histolytica infection.
I would suggest you also upload a picture of the rash on the link provided on our web page so that I can diagnose better.
For now, I suggest Tab Atarax 25 mg twice daily for three days and application of calamine lotion over the rashes.
Please do not use epiderm over the rashes as it contains skin irritants which can aggravate itching.
Please get back with the details I have asked for so that I can help you better.
Thanks.

Correct therapy received for parasitic infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Welcome back.
You have been given correct therapy for the E.histolytica infection.
I suggest you follow the instructions I have given in my previous reply for the rashes.
If the rashes do not reduce in three days, you might have to undergo some blood investigations to rule out other causes of rashes.
For now, I would suggest to avoid any triggers which might increase the itching or the rashes.
Use a mild soap preferably with a moisturizer to soothe the inflamed skin.
Please upload picture of rash if you can.
Complete the full course of therapy for the parasitic infection and apply calamine lotion over the rashes.
You will get better within a week.
Wishing you a fast recovery.
Thanks.

Picture looks like allergic rash
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for uploading picture of the rash.
As I had suspected, it looks like a allergic rash. Calamine lotion application over the rash will definitely reduce the redness and itching.
I suggest you follow the instructions I have given in my previous reply for the rashes.
Few more tips:
1. Avoid scratching the inflamed skin as it may increase the erythema.
2. You can apply cool compresses to reduce the stinging pain.
3. Wear light weight loose fitting clothes.
Wishing you a fast recovery.
Thanks.

Alternative antihistamine drugs are available
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Welcome back.
There are many alternative antihistmine drugs available.
I am mentioning a few in the list below:
1. Cetrizine - 10 mg tablets twice daily for 3-5 days
2. Allegra - 30 mg tablets twice daily for 3-5 days
3. Benadryl - 50 mg tablets twice daily for 3-5 days
I want to stress here that antihistamines cause drowsiness, so avoid alcoholic drinks while taking these drugs and be careful when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery.
If you are not able to get any of the above mentioned drugs, get a prescription for any OTC antihistamines available in a pharmacy nearby you as the modes of action of all these drugs are the same.
I hope I was able to help you with this answer.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks.

Give more details of symptoms, upload picture
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Welcome back.
I am glad that the itching and redness of rashes is reduced which indicates healing of the rashes.
But I do not understand what you mean by sensitive stomach skin.
Do you mean that you have rashes on your abdominal area?
Please give more details about your symptoms and if possible upload the picture of the same on the link provided.
Thanks.

Check for redness, Wear loose fitting clothes
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
I suggest you apply calamine lotion over the abdominal area also.
Wear loose fitting clothes to avoid abrasion of skin.
If the stinging does not reduce by application of calamine within few hours, you have to get that area examined by a GP nearby you to rule out infection.
Look out for these signs and symptoms which suggest infection of skin.
1. Pain and tenderness in affected area
2. Redness in affected area
3. Tight, glossy swollen appearance of skin
4. Feeling of warmth in that area
5. Fever
If you have any of these symptoms, get in touch with a GP nearby you and get the affected area examined.
I hope I have helped you with this answer.
Please get back if any more queries.
Thanks.
