What Causes Painful Swallowing And Feeling Of A Lump In The Throat?

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
Dysphagia (painful swallowing) can be caused by a number of different things. I can't know for sure, but it's possible there initially was some esophageal spasm and food got stuck and caused irritation. But I would expect that the discomfort would have resolved if it has been a week. Something is keeping it going.
You can try
1. the acid reducer Zantac 150 mg (twice a day) to decrease any acid coming up, and
2. blending her food (may need to add a little liquid to it to do this) so that it goes down easier and allows the esophagus to heal.
However, as it's been a week and no improvement, if the above things don't help, she should go in to be seen by a doctor.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
