What Causes Painful Swollen Bump Behind Bottom Front Teeth And Ear Pain?

Question: Hi, for the last few days I have had a swollen and painful white bump behind my bottom front teeth. I also have ear pain. There is a white patch on right gland on floor of mouth. I do have plaque/tartar build up. I have an appointment this morning but would like to know what to expect.

Hi

Thanks for writing in.

As per your history, you are having abscess in front teeth can be periapical or periodontal.To rule out:-
-if it associated with decayed tooth then its periapical & Root Canal Treatment or extraction is the line of treatment
- if it is due to improper oral hygiene & receeding gums then its periodontal & requires deep subgingival scaling & rootplaning.

For that tartar deposition you need to go for scaling only. Also use 0.2% chlorhexidine mouthwash once daily half an hour after brushing.
Do send me pics of that white mass on floor of mouth for proper diagnosis.

Consult dentist for further treatment planning.
