What Causes Painful Thumb Joints Post Injury?
I would suggest to get x ray
Detailed Answer:
Hello madam,
I have read your case and I would suggest you to get x ray of the right hand. I suspect that it can be a fracture and it will need proper splinting. In 60 year old female, due to menopause osteoporosis of bones may be present. It makes bone brittle and there can be fracture with any trivial injury. Moreover healing also takes more time.
So my suggestion is to get x ray as soon as possible. Treating at home and tylenol is not sufficient.
Apart from splinting for your hand and wrist, you will also need treatment for osteoporosis like alendronate, calcium, vitamin D and Calcitonin nasal spray.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions.
