Question: Hi I have a UTI and was advised that I could consult with webmd and possibly get some antibiotics. I have pain and burning with urination, minor back pain and I used an at home test strip that showed positive for lukisites.

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

From what you have described it sounds like you may be dealing with a true urinary tract infection. This is caused by bacteria which cause irritation of the inside of the bladder or urethra. Sometimes this is also associated with fevers or sometimes blood in the urine.

there are a few services on the Internet which allow you to consult with the physician who can provide an antibiotic prescription. This service, however, does not allow for direct prescription generation for patients.

You can try simple home remedies which are effective
- Drinking plenty of fluids
- Cranberry juice / pills.

I would recommend that you use a good web search engine to find an appropriate website where the physician consultation is offered in a setting where you can receive a prescription as well.

Thank you for sharing your healthcare concerns with us.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
