What Causes Painless Blisters On The Penis?
Question: I have noticed two new “spots” on my penis, and I’m concerned this may be some kind of STD.
I’ve attached pictures. Spot 1 is whitish and hard. Spot 2 is smaller and soft. Spot 1 appeared 5th April . Second spot appeared 15th April. They are not itching or painful. They haven’t changed much since they appeared (writing this April 28th).
On 22 March I received oral sex from “girl 1”. On March 29 had unprotected vaginal sex with a girl who has a HPV strain (but no visible “spots”). Is it likely that I got anything from the oral sex?
I understand it’s hard to say, but are these blisters more likely to be HPV or herpes? Or something else?
Please send me a list of the lab tests I need to rule out all possible STDs including HSV1, HSV2, chlamydia, gonnorhea and anything else you would recommend?

Brief Answer:
possible genital warts
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
The images suggest that these could be warts i.e hpv infection. They dont seem like genital herpes.
Unprotected vaginal sex is a risk for transmission for STDs.
I suggest you to screen for Hiv ( 4th generation P24 antigen and anti hiv antibody test), vdrl for syphilis, Elisa for hsv type 1&2, swab test for gonorrhea and chlamydia.
In addition you may take a PCR for HPV DNA. That would be confirmatory for hpv infection as well as determine hpv type.
Regards

Is "PCR for HPV DNA" a swab test for men, or can sample be collected via blood or urine? The lab I visited could only do swab, but I'm unsure of simply swabbing the "spots" are enough.
Brief Answer:
PCR for HPV DNA is a swab test
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
PCR for HPV DNA is a swab test. They would swab the suspected lesions and neighboring skin.

Can you please send a scanned prescription?
Brief Answer:
Kindly walk into the office of a local dermatologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I suggest you to contact a local doctor/ dermatologist who would be able to write a prescription for you or perform a treatment at his/her office. In XXXXXXX you can directly walk into a dermatologist office without prior appointment. There is no need to get a referral from a general practitioner and there are usually no long waiting times (at most a day or two).
Podophyllin resin is 20% and is anyways not for self application. It is a physician applied treatment. Excess self application of resin can cause toxicity therefore a doctor should apply it.
Even though (unlike podophyllin resin) topical podophyllotoxin 0.5% gel can be self applied. It is a prescription medication and unfortunately podophyllotoxin is not available in XXXXXXX So it is not an.option.
Imiquimod 5% cream is for self application but again it is a prescription medication. It also needs to be used under supervision because of its irritant potential.
Besides, i guess either electrocautery (for just a few genital warts) Or alternatively podowart (podophyllin resin) application by a dermatologist would be netter and practical options. Podowart would require just 1 or 2 applications, a week apart. Imiquad on the other hand would take longer time (3-4 weeks) and it needs daily application too.
So my best advice for you would be either podowart application by a local dermatologist Or electrocautery ablation by a local dermatologist.
