What Causes Painless Swelling Of The Lymph Nodes Of The Neck?
Question: I have a swollen lymph node at the back of my neck/hairline on the right side. It is smaller than 1 cm diameter and does not hurt. It has been there for over two years. Only accompanying symptoms are occasional tingling sensation in my head. Never hurts.
Brief Answer:
Painless lymph node,need not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Lymph nodes basically act as portals of protection in our body and prevent any attack by outside organisms.
Some degree of painless swelling of the lymph nodes of the neck is normal and does not need further assessment.
A lymph node less than one cm in the neck is usually not a cause of concern.
In case the lymph node tends to increase in size or is associated with pain and discomfort, only then it needs to be seen by a specialist, otherwise you can leave it alone. It will resolve slowly by itself.
