What Causes Palpitations And Lightheadedness?
Question: Hi Doc, It all started 10 months back when I had this feeling of palpitations and light-headed. I went to my GP and over a period of 4 months got all my checks done including ECG, EV, 24 hr XXXXXXX monitor, thyroid blood test, x-ray, endoscopy..nothing came up except inactive harnia...doc asked me to take nexum which I am taking from 2 months....now the sympotoms have changed to stomach heaviness and nausea and light headed...no more palpitations....
Doc is not able to diagnose anything ....please advise.

Brief Answer:
Middle ear
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
It is important to remember that light headedness can be because of 2 other systems.
1. Central nervous system
2. Middle ear involvement.
This is how you should go about it
1. Approach an ENT specialist, check for middle ear involvement
2. If ENT exam in also normal then I recommend that you get a CT brain done
Stomach heaviness and nausea could be because of the hernia. I recommend pantoprazole with domperidone instead of neksium for a better symptom relief.
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards
