What Causes Palpitations And Severe Back Pain?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 May 2017
Question: Within the past 10 days I have noticed that my heart rate runs faster than normal. I have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis as well as bad back pain and use and oximeter occasionally. My pulse has always been below 100 and the doctors check it all the time. Today it ran 146 for some time and that was after the racing. Do I need to be worried or is ok and will probably go back down?

Brief Answer:
Do not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After reading your query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that do not worry as of now.

What you need to do is just get one EKG done. EKG here is important to see whether the fast heart rate which you are experiencing is within a normal sinus rhythm or not.

If it's a sinus tachycardia then nothing to worry, it will settle down but if the rhythm is anything other than sinus then you need to consult a cardiologist personally for a clinical evaluation.

I hope this information will be helpful and will relieve your worries. Feel free to ask if you have any more doubts.

Kind regards
Dr. Bhanu Partap
