What Causes Palpitations, Tingling In Hands And Feet In A Diabetic Patient?

Common phenomenon
Detailed Answer:
Greetings and welcome to HCM. I carefully read your query.
A palpitation is a symptom that may be accompanied by breathlessnes, a heavy feeling on the chest and other non-specific symptoms, such as those you provided. It is caused whenever an extrasystole (premature heart muscle contraction or, popularly known, "skipped heart beat") happens. This means that a certain electrical impulse is generated from another partition of the heart muscle, and not by the natural pacemaker of the heart - the sinus node. What happens next?
The sinus node quickly "takes over" the situation, and produces the succeding, normal heart beat after a short pause, and this beat is commonly more forceful and is felt by the patient - a palpitation.
This is a phenomenon that may happen to everyone, including me, and may be produced by vigorous physical activity, periods of psychological stress, caffeine intake etc. I would like to reassure you that happening some times in a day, they do not have any significance. However, if they become often, a 24-hour Holter rhythm registration is recommended, to judge how many times they happen and what treatment should be started to supress and prevent them.
I hope my answer is of help. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.
Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
