What Causes Paraphimosis?
Question: Hello Doctor,
Around 3-4 weeks back while having sex my foreskin pulled back and now it wont pull over the glans. I let go because there was not any pain but only mild irritation. Now there is also inflamation around the foreskin
I am concerned and need your advise. Also I am traveling currently and will be back in 3-4 days to my country

Hello
Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed Paraphimosis.
However it needs to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified Urologist or General Surgeon.
If there is minimal swelling you can try yourself to reduce it gently .You can certainly wait for 3-4 days till you come back to your country and consult Urologist .
.You may need to get circumcised .
This is a simple surgery done under local anaesthesia as a out patient procedure and offers permanent cure and helps to have enjoyable sex for rest of the life.
In the mean while try to get antibiotics like Augmentin and anti inflammatory medication like Diclofenac to be taken twice daily.
