Brief Answer:
Periodic limbs movements.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

There are several conditions that may be related or contribute to periodic limbs movements during the sleep.

These include:
- iron deficiency anemia, Antidepressants
- metabolic disorders including diabetes and kidney disease
- sleep disorders such as narcolepsy or RLS (restless legs syndrome),etc.

The test of choice to diagnose periodic limbs movements, besides tests to assess above mentioned conditions, is polysomnography test, also called a sleep study.

Discuss with your primary care Doctor about these issues.

Regards.

Dr Spaho
At this time my primary doctor is treating me for iron deficiency anemia
with ferrous sulfate 325mg -1 tablet every day for 30 days. I gather the
doctor will do another blood test to see if a difference has occurred.
Thank you for answering my question so promptly.
Sincerely

Dr. Spaho: I will make an appointment with my primary doctor and see
what she says. My energy level is that of a snail. My "jumping" leg problem
has apparently stopped for now. I'm very grateful for the rest at night.
I will let you know what my doctor finds out. Too bad your practice is not
in Hemet California where I live. (Riverside County) I would like to come
see you and get a complete work up regarding some small problems I'm
having. Any way thank you. God bless you!
