What Causes Persistent Back Pain While Treating Raynaud's Disease?

default
Posted on Wed, 11 Jan 2017
Question: My doctor has prescribed Meloxicam 15mg since I was diagnosed with Raynaud disease. Also, I have had 8 major back surgeries and I take Hydrocodine 10 for pain and the instructions are to take 2 every 6 hrs. I don't do that. I take 1/2 pill 3x daily. I'm still in a great deal of pain, but I need to use my brain in order to function on a daily basis. I just don't get the meloxicam, tho? I am 70 yrs. old. Now, if this info you provide will cost me, I'm afraid I won't be able to pay. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
You can try muscle relaxants if you can get it prescribed in ER.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I am really sorry to hear what you are going through. Now let me see how to help you. You can try muscle relaxants if you can get it prescribed, since very often, back pain is due to muscle spasm. Examples are--
Carisoprodol
Chlormezanone
Methacarbamol
Tizanidine
They should help.
Is it possible for you to get a TENS ((transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) home machine. You can easily learn the procedure in ER from a doctor, and use it.
TENS-- Two wires are attached to waist and two to legs. A current is passed between these wires at a low intensity, which is gradually built up to the level of your tolerance lasting for about 15 minutes. It can be repeated three to four times a day. It is safe and as effective as medication.
All the best! Regards
