What Causes Persistent Balance Issues, Dry Cough After Food And Heaviness In Head?
I am old 89 years and suffer from imbalance and had one or two falls over the last 2 years. I have a dry cough particularly at meal times, take tablets for blood pressure doxi... my imbalance worries me and the seeming heaviness in my head, although I can still do the Guardian Crossword if more slowly than yore.
I eat the right things though chiefly without appetite and not overweight. I wear a CI ( 22 electrodes) as have had hearing-loss since quite young. Should I prepare to meet my maker!
I will await the e-mail answer as I am not too good with the technology unless very clear instructions given Thanks
You need detailed neurological examination.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms and feel that you need a detailed neurological examination to exclude a disease of cerebellum (small brain at the back). This can cause imbalance and falls.
We also need to exclude a disease of sensory nerves of feet, which can also cause imbalance and falls.
Your symptoms are unlikely to be related to CI.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
