What Causes Persistent Burning Sensation In Food Pipe Post Consumption Of Food?

Question: My age is 30 years. Whenever I have food, I have a burning sensation in my food pipe. This basically happens in case of eating and when sleeping at night. This has been the case for last 4-5 years. I do also have a gastric problem. The burning goes down when i deink water but comes back again. Can you please suugest something.

Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concerns and following is symptomwise approach:

1.Since the problem is from last 4-5 years have you:

. taken an opinion of Gastroenterologist or medicine specialist?
. done any investigation like endoscopy, gastric analysis,hemoglobin?

2. Any associated heart burn, difficulty in swallowing,excess flatulence,acidity, anorexia,indigestion?

3. Any addiction of spices,tea/coffee, alcohol, smoking?

4. Any unusual STRESS: physical and/or mental?

5. Any history of taking pain killers/steroids?

6. Do revert back with above clarifications, in the mean time following is advised:

. Do not lie down immediately after food.
. Head high position at night (during sleep)
. Take small non bulky meals
. Bland and soft diet, avoid chillies and sour or fatty food
. Stop smoking and alcohol intake
. Stop irritant drugs (pain killers)
. Take: green gram,bitter gourd,white gourd melon,old brown rice XXXXXXX longum,garlic, honey,amla,rice gruel,cucumber,banana, water melon,pomegranate,tomato, carrot,lukewarm water.
. Avoid: newly harvested rice,chick pea flour, black/horse gram,potato,brinjal,butter milk, spices,tea/coffee,junk food,day time sleeping,salt and salt items in esxcess(chutney,sauce,pickles,chips,namkeen), sesame.

7. Mix 3 pinch dry ginger powder
3 pinch XXXXXXX gooseberry powder
3 pinch sugar.... and eat for 1 month

. Drink 4 spoons of aegle marmelos leaves juice for 14 days

. Suck a piece of clove (for immediate relief)
. Suck 10 gm jaggery everyday (after meals) for constant acidity.

8. Medicine shall be initiated once you have clarified points 1-5.

Thanks doc. No i have not taken any opinion of gastroenterologist yet, hence no investigations in this regard. No problem in swallowing or any other ones. However I think the burning csn be classed as acidity, not sure. I doneed a cupnofvtea every morning, no other adfictions. Not much stress and I have been foing yoga for sometime now too. No history of pain killers. Thanks forbyour advise intakes. Since the list is long, and I will not be able to follow all, anything u feel which is utmost important out of it.

1. Get an opinion of Gastroenterologist Doctor for any internal gastric problem.
2. As you have said that you will not be able to follow most of the dietary regime thus:
. juice of aegle marmelos and 10 gm jaggery is ideal.

. Take:
- Patoladi kwatha with honey (in morning)
- Sutshekhar ras 125 mg with Lella XXXXXXX ras 125 mg to be taken with amla murabba.
- Tablet Mentat or Brahmi vati : to keep the mind at ease, 2 at bed time only
