What Causes Persistent Chest Pain While On Prilosec?

default
Posted on Thu, 21 Jan 2016
Question: I've been having chest pains on my left side near my arm pit for some time. I went to the doc and they ran an ekg as well as blood work. Everything came back normal. This pain comes and goes and seems to get worse near my period. It also gets worse when I'm excited/mad. But not all the time.
Should I go back to the doc? The doctor ruled it out as acid reFlux but the prilosec Is not helping. Thanks for taking time to read.

Brief Answer:
Can be Musculoskeltal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be musculoskeletal pain. X ray and ultrasound should be taken to rule out other causes. A physical examination should be done to rule out any palpable lumps also. For this a consultation with your doctor is well appreciated.

For musculoskeletal pain using NSAID gels containiing diclofenac or ketoprofen and capsaicin for local application will be helpful. If not helping then oral NSAID like Ibuprofen can be taken also.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It can be due to fibrocystic disease of breast.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

As it is more when approaching towards periods it can be due to fibrocystic disease of breast. You should have a breast examination by gynecologist or general surgeon just after finishing your periods. Ultrasound examination also should be carried out. This is a benign condition and nothing to worry. Medications like primrose will be helpful for this also. Also check your thyroid profile.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
