What Causes Persistent Cough And Shortness Of Breath Despite Taking Medications?
Question: I am on the fifth day of a five day antibiotic treatment for some difficult bronchitis. Better now but still coughing and short of breath a bit. Just now I had a violent coughing event, sat up and found myself shaking convulsively (uncontrollably) throughout my body and limbs. It ceased immediately upon the ending of the coughing spasm. Is this odd? I have never experienced anything like this event. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Better to start antihistamines and inhaled drugs.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
First line treatment for bronchitis is inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
Antihistamine drug is also advised to prevent excessive coughing.
So in your case, you should start inhaled treatment and antihistamine.
Your shaking is odd symptom and I think it will be treated with antihistamines.
So consult your doctor and discuss all these. Start inhaled treatment and antihistamine drugs.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
