What Causes Persistent Cough, Rashes On The Lower Legs And Burning Sensation On The Tongue?
I wake up. My toenails on my big toes have raised and turned brown. I have a cough that sounds like a smokers cough and I never smoked .My nose is crusty and runny. I have psoraisis e and gun my scalp and now a pimply rash on my lower legs. I also take thyroid med for hypothyroidism. I also have a burning sensation on my tongue and gums. That causes me to feel very full and at times I have trouble swallowing. Consequently, I do not eat a lot at meals. In the last year I have lost 35 pounds which is a good thing since I was overweight.
Your immune system seems to have gone haywire
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that you have a number of complaints. It is quite apparent that your immune system is messed up. The resultant imbalance (autoimmunity, hypersensitivity or allergic component) is responsible for both your psoriasis as well as your cough. I would insist you to take Montair LC (monteleukast + levocetirizine) [prescription medicine] once daily when needed. I would also insist you to get a blood allergy profile done and to opt for desensitization based on the report.
Furthermore, the autoimmunity is also responsible for your hypothyroidism. The allergic component is likely to be responsible for increased secretions from your eyes and this excess secretion leads to crusting. Wash your eyes frequently with plain water.
You could be having vitamin B deficiency (B12 in particular) and I would insist you to try taking vitamin B complex supplements for a couple of weeks. Also take curd or yogurt since they contain beneficial bacteria which can help.
Get your blood checked for hemoglobin level.
Let me know if I could help further.
