Brief Answer:
Antibiotic can be given

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
Most of the time cough and cold in this age occurs due to allergy(if not associated with fever) or infection(associated with fever).
Infection can be due to virus or bacteria.
Antibiotic is needed in bacterial infection only.
As initially there was only cough/cold and there was no fever most likely this is due to allergy.
Now I won't get worried for single spike of low grade fever.
I would suggest you to observe him closely. Continue the current medication and monitor temperature. If fever recurs and it is of high grade you may give antibiotic(augmentin duo) after consulting your physician.
Watch for any abnormal symptom like breathing difficulty or severe cough and if you notice any please consult your pediatrician immediately.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
