I am enclosing the medical diagnosis report for further details.
The patient had 2 fractures one in the jaw line and the other in the chin area and the doctors recommended putting two plates at both the areas.
During the Post operation follow up, the oral/ dental doctors mentioned that the jaw line plate has not been inserted and the bone has grown in a wrong direction which needs immediate correction through a surgery.
The second opinion from the plastic surgeons who did the surgery says that there is no need for second operation and the treatment is going in the right direction.
The patient is still suffering with pain an d is unable to open her mouth. She is on liquid diet since her operation day.
Pls advise if we need to go ahead with the second operation.

Brief Answer:
Check for occlusion first and then Oral surgeon's opinion
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for more details.
I am sorry about your wife's pain and suffering. Usually the person would be off the liquid diet post surgery. If she is still not able to take semi solid then it should be re evaluated as soon as possible.
First & foremost ask your local dentist/Oral surgeon to check your wife's occlusion of jaws that is how the teeth meet each other and if the occlusion is as it was before the surgery?
The main purpose of the surgery performed was to maintain proper occlusion and the patient should be able to masticate solid food. If the occlusion still remains disturbed even after surgery the purpose of the surgery was rather unsolved which happens in most cases.
In my opinion the best next step to is to check for occlusion by dentist both clinically and also you can get bite wing X- ray of the jaw.
If occlusion is disturbed then you need to go for second surgery with oral & maxillofacial surgeon and not a plastic surgeon.
If occlusion is normal then there might be some problem in articular disc of Temporomanbibular joint (TMJ) which might have displaced during the trauma. Even in case of disc displacement you need oral & maxillofacial surgeon's advice.
Hope I answered your query
Wishing you good health.
