Multiple postop infections with Low Bp ? / Under Evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Multiple postop infections with Low Bp ? / Under Evaluation
Hello there, Thanks for your query to HCM.
Read and reviewed facts of your query in context of your post operative multiple infections with low blood pressure.
Dear, What is the age of your patient? Can you update more on the throat lump? Since when you noticed this problem?
Q- got infection in the wound area non stop since operation, then infection where u pass urine and now in throat and also bp v low . What can this be ?
Ans-Dear, I hope your main worry is the persistent infection in the operative wound and accompanied with urinary tract infection (UTI) and with throat infection- which seems to be with lump in throat.
I would suggest you to give details of each of the complaint and get it resolved during coming up interactions here after.
In My opinion the low blood pressure, is the out come of the persistent infection in the operated wound / with UTI and throat infection with resultant septicemia, which is being missed in priority of management.
Suggested plan to handle-
Blood Culture of the Wound discharge / Urine pipe discharge and / throat swab separately would fix the cause of bacterial septicemia which is complicating the general condition and low bp in your case.
When a patient is ridden with chest wound infection -
operative wound infection- in post-by pass surgical period, its a great stress on the general and surgical care of the patient.
Proper wound Care of the Chest and if need be excision / surgical debridement of the sternal bone osteomyelitis would cure and resolve the chest wound injury, which is a complex issue in itself.
Wound irrigation with povidone / hydrogen peroxide and saline would reduce the pyogenic load in the wound and would help fast recovery in your patient.
Rule out the possibility of missed foreign body in the wound. Please update Me specific chest wound query with more details of it .
Proper urine pipe care with squeezing of the urethral passage and post-urine culture antibiotic treatment would fix the problem of this infection.
Long recovery period with stress on fluid balance would strain the throat flora and would cause throat infections.
Suction of throat and regular listerine gargles would fix the cause of this lump / which could be adenoid / lymphoid tissue in the throat.
Proper Iv infusion and monitoring of your low bp till it recovers under cover of proper antibiotics IV ly / or Orally with Metrogyl +post- Culture antibiotic addition would fix the low bp from Bacteremia.
Hope I tried to reply on all the infections -total of 3 - in your case and the low bp accompanied with it.
Please update more information in regard to this query.
Welcome for further query in this regard.

Hi Dear!! Thanks for the updates and your appreciation.
It 2 months now after the By pass surgery, and the chest wound is still not clearing up.
As you don't know much regarding chest wound, do Talk with your treating / attending Cardiac doctor and he could explain the reasons for it and would take care to control it.
This is because, if neglected it could lead to dangerous proportions.

Brief Ans-You should talk on these issues with your attending doctors..!!
Hi Dear,Thanks for your update query.
I could understand your anxiety and concern about your patient.
Without any first hand information, My suggestions need to be discussed with your attending doctors / or Cardio-thorasic Surgeon , who did the By pass surgery and would be in better position to attend to it exactly in the most cost-effective manner. But its your turn to open your anxieties and have sorted out by XXXXXXX discussions with your attending Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon.
I am sure he would guide you in the best possible way to treat this chest infection issue which is over due and needs definite attention at your end.
So I would suggest You to, please talk with your doctors and fix these post-operative issues .
Hope this would help you to resolve the anxiety which you have with your patient.
