What Causes Persistent Itching On The Instep And Sole Of The Foot?
Question: I am having persistent itching on the sole and instep of my right foot that I have had for several weeks now. It seems to be relieved by applying some eucalyptus/spearmint cream. However, it can be very annoying. I also get periodic itching/crawling sensations all over my body (more so on my face, head and nech). Not sure what the itching and crawling sensations mean but wanted to reach out for a medical opinion.
Brief Answer:
topical antifungal cream and oral antihistamine/cetrizine tablet

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
Itching on instep and sole of foot on one side could be due to fungal infection/ tinea. I suggest you to use a topical antifungal cream e.g terbinafine 1% cream twice daily for 4weeks.
You may also take a tablet of cetrizine 10mg once daily for generalised body itch which may be due to urticaria/ dermographism.
