What Causes Persistent Pain And Swelling In Feet And Hands?

Question: Hi doctor, my sister is 24 years old, she has a weight of 48kg she is 156cm height

few weeks ago she developed pain in her feet that continues , she has no idea the cause of the pain, and the pain is in both her feet, today morning she developed some kind of swelling in her left hand with painful sensation . she has a feeling of swelling at both her feet and hand specially near her fingers, she said she feels more pain when she tries to contract her fingers to close her hand for example and same for her hands.

what are the possible causes of these symptoms? what do you suggest to do ? she hasn't gone to doctor yet

it seems to be rheumatoid arthritis, but this is not a classical picture. I would like you to go for some test like ESR, CRP and Rheumatoid factor.
you need to see a rheumatologist who can clinically examine and make the diagnosis.
Meanwhile paracetamol can be taken for pain killer

Thanks for the quick reply doctor . I will do that as soon as possible .

However I forgot to mention that she was diagnosed with anemia before and she doesn't take any medication for it at the moment, could it due to anemia ?

And I made mistake in her weight she ways 43 kg she lost 10kg in the last 2 months . Can the weight loss, Anemia and these symptoms be related ?

anemia is not directly related to arthritis but arthritis can cause mild anemia.
But yes, weight loss may be due to any chronic disease including arthritis..
you need to go to doctor as early as possible
