What Causes Persistent Skin Rash On Arms, Upper Legs And Shoulders?

Question: I have had a persistant skin rash for two weeks. It is on my arms, upper legs and on my shoulders. It is itchy
Brief Answer:
Appears to be Fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query. I have gone through the image.
It is looking like fungal infection. There is nothing serious as the rash is persisting since two weeks.
However these details are also important to understand if this is bacteria causing these lesions.
1. Did you have any other symptoms like fever or bodyache?
2. Did you develop any water filled lesions initially that crust now?
3. Have you tried any medication till now?
4. Anyone else in family/contacts having similar complaints?
Please answer the above so I can help you better.
Waiting for your response before I advise you on how to proceed.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the clarification.
Your symptoms are suggestive of fungal infection.
I treat such cases with oral Tablet Tebinafine 250mg once a day after meal in the night for two weeks. Along with it a topical Ointment Clotrimazole twice a day (after washing with soap) over the lesions on all sites for a month. I have seen excellent response with these. These are prescription only medicines and you can try this in consultation with your doctor.
For itch you can take an anti histamine like Cetrizine 10mg twice a for 3 days only. This should be available over the counter.
Importantly keep the area clean and dry immediately after bath.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you
