Hello and thank you for asking!
Treatment outcomes for May-Thurner syndrome are generally very good.
There are some treatment alternatives.
Stenting of the iliac vein is often important in the treatment of May-Thurner Syndrome. If there is a clot, however, that is the first course of action using pharmaco-mechanical thrombolysis or catheter-directed thrombolytic therapy.
Please specify the treatment procedure you have done, so I can inform you further regarding to treatment alternatives and the outcome.

I already wrote that there was a stent put in to correct the May Thurner
It has been several days and the leg is still swollen
This should not count as a follow up question as I provided the info you are requesting in my initial email
Thanks

The treatment efficiency evaluation:
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back!
After a successful procedure the clinical improvement (oedema in your case) is seen within 2 weeks (when the first follow up is usually recommended and the patent stent is confirmed radiologically).
It takes usually three-six months for the clinical symptoms to get substantially decrease/disappear.The later the diagnosis and treatment, the longer the time of recuperation.
To assess the results, venous clinical severity and venous disability scores are evaluated before surgery and during the follow-up. So, if your physician confirm the improvement, you have to be patient and wait for it to be evident.
Restenosis (can occur in 5% of the cases) may be a cause of deterioration of the clinical symptoms but usually is seen after a period of at least 4 months after the surgical procedure, so it does not seem to be your case.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
