What Causes Persistent Throat Ulcers?

viral, bacterial or fungal infection. ENT doctor. Run HIV test too
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query
The commonest causes of throat ulcers are viral infections (like herpes infection), bacterial infection including syphilis and fungal infection. It is important to note if you ingested any caustic liquids lately. Severe gastro esophagal reflux disease could also manifest itself like throat ulcers. A history of heart burn or changes in taste of saliva would be indicative of this.
Some tumours could present as such, might its rare.
Doing an HIV test and for syphilis after or a proper clinical review and examination, preferably by your ENT doctor is advisable.
Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.

Low dose omeprazole, see gastroenterologist for General review
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query
It might be very important than for your gastroenterologist to revisit and check the integrity and function of the stomach. Testing again for helicobacter pylori infection, generally associated with these ulcers and doing a fibroscopy could be of need.
I suggest low dose omeprazole for now (20mg) daily as you await to book an appointment with your doctor. It's imperative for your doctor to do another General examination to exclude other possible causes of the ulcers.
Thanks and kind regards
