What Causes Persistent Vaginal Bleeding While On Junel Fe?

Question: I am on the fifth day of my third week taking Junel Fe 1/20 28 day birth control. I am experiencing breakthrough bleeding and a little irritation in my vagina. I am having other side effects like bloating and weight gain. I have been bleeding for ten days, I was told this would happen by the doctor, but the blood has a bad smell to it unlike my regular period. I am wondering if this is normal, if there is anything I can do to make it stop or help it, and how much longer could it possibly last?

Hello thank you so much! I have only been on the pill for 20 days now. I have had no urinary discomfort, fever, or abdominal pain at all.
Brief Answer:
bleeding will be slightly more in first time users
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear
good day
thanks for your quick reply.
I am very happy to know that you are not having any of the above mentioned symptoms .
As those symptoms are signs of infection
so in my opinion this kind of picture is common in people using pills for the first time.
Don't worry this will subside in 3 days
in caese it's not subsiding I suggest you to see your doctor
take foods rich in iron to compensate for iron loss
green leaf vegetables are rich in iron.
your will be alright don't worry
