What Causes Persistent Vomiting Despite A Normal Ultrasound?
Question: ive been throwing up at night for 3 mths. ive had the scope. gallbladder ultrasound, and Hida scan all normal except durning the hida scan i had pain in by belly that lasted into the next day. The gerontologist referred me to a surgeon. Had consult today after reviewing the test results and examination he did schedule me to have gallbladder out but said he did not think that my gallbladder was the problem. I can not connect any food to the attacks and it is always about 6 hrs after last meal that i throw up. The throwing up last for hours and i bust blood vessels in face and neck.
Brief Answer:
Appendicitis/pancreas/kidney problems to consider too
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.
From what you are reporting, my opinion is that the vomiting could be related to bowel problems such as appendicitis especially if it is latent but gives the only symptom of vomiting.
Abdominal ct-scan or gastrography will help evaluate you bowels for possible inflammation or obstacles.
Discuss it further with the surgeon.
Next, pancreas/stomach and kidney problems should be ruled also out.
All the best.
