What Causes Persistent White Bumps On Vulva?

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Feb 2016
Question: How long is it possible to suffer from a yeast infection & can it cause white bumps on the vulva? I went to my dr in October and tested positive for yeast and treatment has improved symptoms but they still have not gone away. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary or suggest any testing other than that. I noticed a few white/skin color bumps. I thought maybe herpes but they have been present for over 4 weeks and never ruptured into open blister. Please advise what this may be?

Brief Answer:
Please, upload an image of these bumps for review!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these bumps that you have reported. This is not herpes as herpes gives painful ulcers with red bases. This is not what you have and it has nothing to do with herpes. However, this is not typical of a yeast infection as well. These bumps are often more common in a condition referred to as folliculitis. The most common cause/provoking factor is shaving of the genitals. If you have been shaving recently, that is the most likely cause. Yeast without symptoms of severe itches is very unlikely.

However, I will like to review an image and provide more insights on this. To upload an image, click on the upload icon to the right of your dashboard and follow the onscreen instructions. You may also send it directly to customer service at YYYY@YYYY and request that it should be uploaded to your query.

I hope to hear from you and promise to respond promptly. Until next, I wish you well.

So could the mild itching and burning be seperate from the bumps? And should I go back to my doctor for a more efficient treatment of the yeast infection?

Brief Answer:
I will say return just for a comprehensive review!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This is unlikely to be related to a yeast infection. However, give your doctor a visit for review. These bumps are unlikely to cause itches and rather humidity could explain this. Do you shave often?

Let me know what you think about the above plan!

Now I found two bumps under the skin that feel about pee size. they are painful to the touch, nothing has risen to the skin and still no blisters sores, etc. Still feeling itching and burning like when my Dr told me I had a yeast infection.

Brief Answer:
Yeast cause significant itches..Bumps are on the surface and not underneath

Detailed Answer:
HI,

Please calm down and don’t be too anxious about these. to find bumps underneath the skin means you were really searching for. This could just represent past healed wounds/scratches/etc. You have to allow yourself sometime to gain more information and let’s understand more. Otherwise, we will go out aggressively and miss out completely on what is happening. This is not something that would kill you and there is no emergency. Let’s exercise patience and address this.

I wish you well.
