What Causes Petechiae?
Question: Is this petechaie? Showed up a couple months ago and went away in about a week or so. Got it again last night. From above belly button down. Doesn't itch. Im healthy, no meds. Worried because it just looks bad. Read its a symptom of leukemia too. No other symptoms. Onky on front side of body pretty much. Came back in exact same areas as before. From feet up to belly button, including genetals. Insides of arms too. Nothing on face, back, neck, hands. What do you think?
Brief Answer:
Can be petechia, more diagnostics needed
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
the picture you are showing can fit petechia, but there is other causes possible like so called vaskulitis.
Petechiae would make those spots shortly go away by pushing with your finger on them, have you tried that? If they cannot be "pushed away" it is most likely something else.
In your case some blood work for thrombocytes and antibodies like so called p-anca and sed rate with crp (inflammation protein) is recommendable to rule out vaskulitis and thrombocyte condition.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
