What Causes Pimples In Pubic Area Post Shaving?
Question: I have small pimples around the area i have shaved on my private part. They turn into hard lumps that still look like pimples. The really dont hurt or itch more than a pimple. Ive had them off and on for coupke monthes! If i scratch on of the lumps off it bleeds then heals up. Ive tried coconut oil, tea tree oil and jock itch antibiotic cream as well. Any help?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have gone through your query and I understand that you are concerned about pimples/ bumps on pubic area.
It is unusual for routine pimples or bumps due to ingrown hair to persist for a couple of months!
I request you to kindly upload an Image in "Reports Section" so that I am able to guide you better.
Pimples or bumps in genital area could also be an STD e.g warts or molluscum comtagiosum and therefore an Image would be very helpful
I would like to know whether have they increased in number ever since you noticed them?
Are you sexually active? If yes, with single or multiple sexual partners? When was your last sexual contact?
Regards

Brief Answer:
Genital Molluscum is a possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank you. I have reviewed the Image.
They seems like lesions of molluscum contagiosum which is a viral infection.
It usually presents as asymptomatic, dome shaped, pearly white or skin colored bumps, which may persist.
Genital Molluscum is an STD.
Infection is usually acquired by sexual contact with an infected sexual partner. Shaving would facilitate local spread by autoinnoculation.
Treatment is removel, either by needle extraction or Radiofrequency cautery Or CO 2 Laser.
I suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your vicnity for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as for the needful.
