What Causes Plum Colored Urine?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 May 2014
Question: I have atrilfibuation and I'm on cumadin. Last week my INR was 8.0 and I've been off cumadin for 7 days but I started urinating bright pink and was told I have blood in my urine.
Yesterday my INR was normal 2.5 but now my urine is the color of wine, like a plum color.
I had 2 urinalysis done and there is no infection.
My question is: What may be some reasons for my urine to be the color of plum and is this normal given my situation with cumadin? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Needs evaluation by a urologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

No even if your INR was high, the urine should not just turn pink or red.
You will need an evaluation by a urologist who can scope your bladder to see what is going on.

Hope this answers your query, please revert back if you have more questions.

Kind regards.
