Brief Answer:
Abnormal growing of intestines lining....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concern.

The presence of polyp in small intestines are showing abnormal growing of the lining of small intestines. They are usually benign and not worrisome. If only one, then your doctor would have taken off during endoscopy examination.
Biopsy result is needed to understand its nature.

Do not worry unnecessarily, just wait for your doctor's explanation. Can ask for a copy of tests results (including biopsy and endoscopy or blood work ) and send them to me for a second opinion.

All the best!

the doctor's nurse ,(he is out of town at present), told me the polyp is on the OUTSIDE of the small intestine. so I am assuming it couldn't be removed by means of endoscopy. and that it may be necessary to remove it by surgery. I am sure my dr. will advise course to take Monday when we meet, just wanted to be prepared for what he might say, and that is why I have consulted you. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Following discussion to have with your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

If the polyp is on the outside part of the intestines, then this is to get further examined :
- is it involving the lymph nodes or fatty tissue?
- how did he examined by means of endoscopy if it is outside? Did you run endoscopy or ct-scan of abdomen or laparoscopy?
- How was possible to get material for biopsy?
- was it only one polyp in one place? Or there are others located elsewhere?

I still need to have a look at the reports of exams you did for a more specific opinion.
I still think not to get worried unnecessarily until everything is cleared up by your doctor.

All the best!
