Brief Answer:
Your kidney function is impaired.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
II have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
Your doctor said that your kidneys are functioning poorly for your age means you have impaired kidney function. your serum creatinine and blood urea level may be high. Your GFR may be low acoording to your age. Main functions of kidney is removal of waste products. So when ever their functions are impaired filtration rate is decreased. Symptoms are anorexia, nausea, vomiting, weakness, urinary problems etc. Please send me your reports of kidney function test so that i can help you more.
Hope I have answered your question. If you hava any doubts then feel free to ask me.I will be happy to answer.
