?? Suspect snapping hip syndrome, please read
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. My suspected diagnosis is called snapping hip syndrome. There are numerous causes for the snapping as there can appear a few phenomenons, but the most likely one is: the thigh bone fits into the pelvic to form the hip joint. A muscle called rectus femoris runs along the thigh bone, due to a back and forth movement of this muscle which is seen during dancing (i.e. when the hip is bent and straightened), resulting in the snapping sound.
The condition occurs most commonly in athletes and dancers, hence its other name "dancer's hip". Treatment includes the following:
+Pain medication
+Ice application
+Rest
+Reducing or restricting movements to avoid the same action and recurrent injury
+Physiotherapy in more severe cases
+Stretching and strengthening exercises taught during physiotherapy
I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
