What Causes Pressure In Abdomen Radiating To Chest?
Ranitidine and Domperidone, antacid
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
This looks to be like GERD- Gastroesophageal reflux disease, One get the same complaints which you have described; pressure in abdomen which quickly moves up the chest and relieved by burping, more frequently at night and on lying down, but can come any time...
I would advise you the following:
Continue Soda bicarb as and when necessary.
Take Ranitidine or a PPI like Pantoprazole.
Domperidone
Small frequent meals
Early dinner and move around, do not sleep immediately after dinner.
IF no relief or no availability of the above mentioned medicines at home, you may have to visit the ER.
Later on get upper GI Endoscopy done.
I hope these should help you. Please feel free o ask for more if you need to or if you feel there is is gap-of-communication.
Your history is S/O GERD, visit the ER at once
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback and suspicion.
With the history you have provided and the relief you get on soda bicarb, it is most suggestive S/O of GERD. You are getting these repeatedly, lately, more after you lay down and more frequently at night.
You have not given any other history of pain, sweating, radiation of pain, hypertension or any other medical problems or treatment that you have.
Yes, in a very rare case the symptoms of cardiac problem can be very odd and not identifiable. Very rare indeed. Although these symptoms alone may not suggest any immediate heart problems, the suspicion has to be ruled out immediately.
And it is good that you are aware of cardiac problems can occur without any warning, and the best way is to get one ECG done once this has come to your mind. Please visit ER, so that you are checked by a Doctor for vitals, get ECG and relevant investigations done as per His / Her findings and get a prescription for an appropriate medicines too.
Once suspicion has creep up the mind get ECG done.
Wishing you a good health.
Will be happy to get the feedback about the clinical diagnosis, investigations, ECG findings and treatment you are prescribed at ER
