What Causes Productive Cough While Treating Scabies With Permethrin?
Question: hi my name is XXXXXXX I think I have scabirs and have had it for at least four years ive had secondary inf and have been treated with antibiotics also have used permetherin cream and a dose of ivermectin now I have a cough bringing up white stuff along with clear and sometimes I cant stop coughing I can feel the stuff coming out of my bronchioles Ive taken cough meds Claritin vicks vapor rub. And I'm still getting new areas on my skin and my arms are itchy. I'm wondering if the scabies are in my lungs

I read your question and i understand your concern. It might be a recurrent scabies and you may need permethrin, ivermectin and other anti scabicides along with good hygiene measures. Apart from scabies other possibilities like eczema and dermatitis should be ruled out too. Cough, white phlegm and chest symptoms do not fit in to scabies and scabies is a skin condition , does not involve lungs no matter what. If you have gastric discomfort like acid reflux, that may cause these cough symptoms and sore throat. Supportive care, salt water gargles, and treating underlying conditions would help.
I would suggest pay a visit to a doctor nearby, let them have a look to confirm scabies and also figure out the possible cause of the cough and phlegm.
