What Causes Profuse Sweating, Sensitiveness To Heat And Tender Lumps Behind Ears?
Question: Hello Doctor Rynne....Thank you so much for responding....I am 68 years of age.... I have been having trouble with excessive sweating from my head....it occurs under the least amount of exertion and is getting worse....my body temperature seems to be sensitive to heat or any change in temperature....even in winter I am in a sweat most of the time....I have also been suffering with tender lumps on my head and behind my ears which range in size from a pea to a large marble....I have been taking antihistimines which keep the heat, soreness and tightness in my head at bay ....I have also been having episodes of what I can only describe as 'kaleidoscope vision'....what bothers me is that I am unable to do much and my fitness level is becoming non existent......Regards, XXXXXXX
Brief Answer:
Probably Seborrheic dermatitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam,
I understand your concern.
Your symptoms of sweating, heat sensitiveness could be probably related to Thyroid abnormality.
So I advise you to get Thyroid profile and Complete blood picture.
Scalp Lumps in your case could be Occipital lymphadenopathy which could be due to scalp infections or Seborrheic dermatitis etc, hence could be treated immediately.
So I advise you to take Tab.Fluconazole 200 mg once daily for 5 days and Candid-TV shampoo twice a week.
If still lumps persist you may need needle examination.
Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.

Hello Doctor.....Thank you for your quick reply and understanding....I had bypass surgery 3 months ago ( a severe blockage and aneurism on main artery)and have healed very well because I was quite fit. I presently take 1 x 100 micro Thyroxine daily and have recently had a thyroid test which showed thyroid as being fine.....My other meds are (60mg - Duloxetine)...(50mg - Metoprolol..twicw daily)...(Somac 40mg)...(Lipitor 20mg)...(aspirin, Spren 100)...It's the excessive sweating that is making my life unbearable, so any other thoughts or feedback would be really appreciated....regards XXXX
