What Causes Prolonged Diarrhea?

Question: I am 62 year old male, on April 19 I began diarrhea followed by a week of night fevers of 102 degrees, delirious and about a week of bright red bloody diarrhea. After three nights of being delirious my wife and children insisted I visit our local ER where I was diagnosed with a Viral Infection and Low Potassium (which Doc said was causing me to be delirious). Doc stated there was a "Nasty Viral Bug" going around that last some people two weeks.
After 23 days of feeling very weak I am no better, No Fevers, No delirium, no bloody diarrhea, but 23 days of Diarrhea and still feeling very weak! When I call my doctor, he says "it's just going to have to run its course!" I'm so tired of feeling this bad! Any suggestions?

Diarrhea more than 20 days in duration,it may be caused by a bacteria.
You must collect a sample of your depositions and take it to your doctor for analysis. If the presence of bacteria in depositions is confirmed, your doctor will prescribe you the right antibiotic.By now you must follow a diet with rice, chicken, apple, banana, carrot, toast, ham york, whitefish ... avoiding sugary foods-drinks and fatty foods.
