Question: Hello Doctor,
My wife has concerns regarding periodic menstrual periods. She discontinued usage of anti¬pregnancy loop which caused vaginal infection by corrosion . Continues bleeding started after removing loop. Now that infection healed and bleeding stopped we are concerned that periodic menses stopped completely. Pregnancy test proved negative. What could be the reason for menstrual pause??

Brief Answer:
Wait for 7-10 days for the periods
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Since she had prolonged bleeding after the removal of the loop, the next periods are likely to be after 3-4 weeks of the removal.
Moreover, if the urine pregnancy test is negative, then there are no chances of pregnancy.
I will suggest her to wait for 2 weeks for the periods.
If still delayed, then repeat the urine pregnancy test.
If negative then the hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia should be ruled out.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
