What Causes Pulmonary Edema In Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease?
Question: Yes My brother in law is 75 yrsold. He was in the hospital with a kidney stone. It was removed but he continues to have swelling and his kidneys were going into failure. This was 1 week ago, The doctors waited for his condition to improve and have decided not to do dialysis. Apparently his kidney levels are gradually improving. However yesterday he complained of being short of breath, He is also very swollen, The hospital said they cannot do naything more and released him to rehab. He is supposed to meet with a nephrologist (? spelling) tomorrowe

With the description you have given i feel he has gone into a condition called Pulmonary Edema. Which has resulted from his weak kidney and heart.
I would suggest you to get a x ray of the chest done and meet a nephrologist as soon as possible.
He will dialyse your brother -in - law, after which we should see improvement in his condition.
