She may be having cervical spondylosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,
After going through your query I concluded that your mother may be having cervical spodylosis. It can be confirmed by X ray cervical spine AP and Lateral view.
I want to know from you :-
1.Since when she is having pain?
2.Whether shoulder movements are restricted or normal?
She is already taking analgesics and muscle relaxant for pain relief .This can be continued till pain is there. As there is pain relief for nearly 5 hours so Hifenac P can be taken three times a day at 8 hourly duration.
Others medicines of use are Diacerine, glucosamine and neurotropics such as mecobalamine. These can be started after confirming cervical spondylosis by x ray.
Rest is very useful so rest is advisable to her neck . It is advisable to use no pillow or very small pillow during sleep and resting period.
You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
There is first possibility of freezing /frozen shoulder
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
After going through your query and follow up query I consider first possibility of she is having freezing or frozen shoulder as her main complain are pulsing pain in upper right arm and shoulders and she feel more pain when she moves her arm upward.
It is also called adhesive capsulitis. It is a painful and disabling disorder of unclear cause in which the shoulder capsule, the connective tissue surrounding the glenohumeral joint of the shoulder, becomes inflamed and stiff, restricting motion and causing chronic pain. Pain is usually constant, worse at night, and with cold weather. Certain movements can provoke episodes of tremendous pain and cramping. The condition is thought to be caused by injury or trauma. In this condition there is pain in and around shoulder, its movements are specially painful when moves arm upwards.
Treatment of this is mobilisation exercises of shoulders, analgesic and muscle relaxants. She is already taking analgesic(Hifenac P and Hifenac SR) and muscle relaxant (Thicolchicoside ). She should also start mobilization exercises of shoulder . The condition tends to be self-limiting and usually resolves over time with exercises as exercises is main treatment. However it may be slow to recover. Vitamin B and C is helpful in recovery. Rest has been already discussed. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.
Hope your query gets answered.
If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.
