What Causes Pulsating Sensation In The Vaginal Area?

Question: For the last 2 weeks I have been feeling an odd sensation in my vaginal area. It's constant, but not painful, almost like a pulsing sensation. I have no discharge or bleeding or anything like that. It's disconcerting feeling your vagina 24 hrs. a day. In the last 2 days the vaginal sensation has abated, but no my stomach feels "heavy" like I've over eaten and that too is constant now. It's a little like after you've eaten you have a bowel movement and then your stomach goes back to normal, but mine doesn't.
I'm not sure if I should start with a gynecologist or my primary care physician. I'm almost 70 years old & not overweight nor do I have any other medical issues. What would you suggest?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
I have read your notes carefully.
Have you had flu/ viral infection recently ? This feeling of fullness in the stomach can be related to infection.
If you have not had flu, please consult gynecologist first. It is important to have a thorough internal and abdominal examination to make sure that there is no cyst in the abdomen.
The vaginal discomfort could be just due to vaginal dryness. Examination will clarify it and you can be treated accordingly.
If you have further concerns I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
