What Causes Purple Bruises On Legs?

Question: I just came back from a trip and noticed two strange bruises on my legs. They are skin colored in the middle with a ring of blue/purple bruising around it.
Here are photos. One looks like there is a red puncture in the middle. Possibly from a bug??
