What Causes Purple Discoloration Of The Lips?

Question : I woke up this morning after a reasonably normal night's sleep and discovered that my lips are a deep purplish red on both the upper and lower lip. I feel fine. Have never seen this before. I am a 69 year old male, and take metformin, amlodipine besylate, lisinopril, glipizide, atorvastatin, hydrochlorothiazide, and thyroid meds daily. I have been on this regimen for at least eight years without any side effects. Wondering what the lip color is about. It looks like misapplied lip stick. Besides not being a good look for a man, what does the coloration possibly mean?
