What Causes Purple Discolouration And Swelling In Anus?
Question: Anus is purple and swollen. My doctor told me it wasn't a hemorrhoid. What the hell is it??
Brief Answer:
Anal fissure
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Swollen anus and purplish discolored ruled out for hemorrhoids is likely an anal fissure as nitroglycerine and sitz bath is the treatment for anal dilation in such sphincteric fissures. Also diet and lifestyle modifications and good bowel habits are advised for better outcome.
Continue the same treatment and focus on diet and lifestyle and hope for the best. I am sure your symptoms will improve. I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

If it healed because it doesnt bleed nor do i have pain how can this ugly thing go away? It got almost better but left a skin tag. How can i have my anus return to normal? It has me crazy
Brief Answer:
Anal tag
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me
With complete healing this small tag will be left as every anal fissure is followed by anal tag. DOnt worry and ignore that. With passage of time, anal tag will also resolve provided there is no further insult to the fissure. Hang in there. Comply with the medicine. It shall prove helpful.
