Brief Answer:
EKG / ECG may be needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello, madame. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I am Dr. Meriton and I understand your concern.

This may be just an episode that could have been triggered by various ambient factors, such as heat, air humidity etc. However, I would recommend you to go to the emergency room and have an EKG done, blood pressure and heart rate measured and monitored for a couple of hours.

I would want to know if you have any previous problem with your heart, because I can see you have an appointment for cardiac echo. And, I kindly ask to give me more information about the episode you suffered today, so we can further discuss the options and further narrow the differential diagnosis.

I hope I was helpful. If you have further questions, I would be glad to help you.

Thank you for your follow up and I will be having this done shortly. I have had no previous heart problems. My son had died from a heart attack while playing hockey and it was found that it was hereditary, so the family was all checked over. It was discovered that the heart disease came from his father's side of the family. While I was being tested they found a slow leak in one of my valves and the doctor ordered a follow up in three years and now it is time for that check up. I will discuss it with my family doctor. I was just alarmed at the time.
Thank you again XXXXXXX
