What Causes Radiating Pain In Left-sided Pelvis, Pubic Bone And Groin Area?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Apr 2016
Question: I have dull and sometimes pinching pain in the left side of the pelvis, that radiates to pubic bone and groin area. it's been chronic for about 2 months. I had ovarian cysts ruled out. I was wondering if this could be round ligament pain that has scarred due to vaginal delivery and pushing with epidural as I didn't feel pain at the time. I carry my son on my left side and I think I disrupted the muscles and pelvic floor. sometimes it feels like I need to urinate when I feel the sudden pain. I've also had chronic post nasal drip ever since I was pregnant and it hasn't gone away. every morning I have to cough up phlegm. could this cough also trigger pulled pelvic floor muscles?

Brief Answer:
I think you may be having weak pelvic muscles

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you may be having weak pelvic muscles or a hernia like condition. In this there is pain on coughing or sneezing and it is common after pregnancy or lower abdominal surgery. Before I advised you any further I would like to know little detail of your illness.
1.Do you feel any heaviness in groin area when passing stool , coughing or sneezing?
2.Is any thing bulges out from groin region ?
3.Do you have your ultrasound report with you? If no, can you get a ultrasound of the abdomen?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
thanks

I do have heaviness near bladder and I've been beginning to feel heaviness in the rectum area. I also feel it when I cough but it aches regardless what I'm doing. there is no bulge I can see poking out but when I push in and rub to feel anything, there does feel like something is there but I can't tell if it's my ovary . the pain initially started when I was laying in bed. the pain was sudden and shot through to the bladder area and made me have to urinate. since then I've been in tolerable pain. I was diagnosed with a couple kidney stones after this pain started

Brief Answer:
You need to get a ultrasound of lower abdomen

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that possibility of weak pelvic muscles is their in your case. it is common after pregnancy and some time it can stays for months. Other possibility can be a urine infection.
I would suggest you to
1.wear a good pelvic support belt. it will help in weak muscles.
2.Get your cough or constipation treated, As when you pushes too hard there is chances of more fatigue to muscles.
3.Urine examination needed to see you if you are not having any infection in the urine. It is common when you have stone in kidney.
4.Ultrasound of the pelvic area can rule out any hernia.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
