What Causes Radiating Pain In The Left Abdomen, Lower Left Back And Spine?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I have mid-left-abdominal pain/ache along with lower left back pain that almost seems to radiate from the spine toward the left side. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
An ureteric stone...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Pain that radiates from back to the abdomen / groin is typical of an ureteric stone. Though your symptoms are typical, I would like to know how long you been dealing with this pain and if you noticed other symptoms besides pain. I would be interested to know if you have problems while passing urine - pain, burning, blood staining and if you have any gynecological issues.
In the meanwhile drink plenty of fluids and continue pain medications. If it hurts too much, you should visit the ER for an ultrasound scan or X-ray KUB.
Hope this helps.
Regards

I've had this ache/pain about 2 days now. I have no other issue, none of the symptoms you mentioned either. Have probably been worse about drinking water the last several days. Will try to step that back up and see what happens. Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Continue this treatment until you feel better or see a doctor..
Detailed Answer:
Your description is suggestive of an ureteric stone. Continue drinking lots of water and take pain medicines. If pain lasts more than a week or if it gets worse it would be wise to visit your doctor. Scan and urine examination needs to be ordered.
