What Causes Raised Bumps On Shaft Of Penis?

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Jul 2014
Question: Hello. Starting early last month I started to notice a couple of raised bumps on my shaft and where the head meet the shaft almost connected. I freaked out and thought it might be herpes. One week later it SEEMED to be getting better and started to dry? Out. However I masterbated (with a condom) and it got worse. Its been almost 7 weeks and it doesnt seem to be getting better.

However it seems to be drying out (patches of white) more often but its not clearing up and actually im noticing new small patches. It doesnt hurt and it doesnt itch at all. I also had a bump on my head that turned almost flat and brown and looks like a small ring worm because the outer circle is a different color almost like pinkish. I am also noticing more small bumps around the ring of the head. That is also how the now flat bump started to look! I have hpv and this looks nothing like ive seen before.

I did have unlrotected sex about two weeks before I noticed anything with a long time friend who also has hpv. Her vagina was extremely dry and I suslect she may of had a yeast infection..I know I know.

Also I will not that during that time I had a rash on my feet and a bad case of athletes foot. I dont know if it spread to my hands or not but i then noticed some small bumps on my hand!

Idk doc please help!! Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Possibility of Herpes with recurrence is there.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

1.As you pointed out, there is more possibilities for Genital herpes in your case.
Even after healing, recurrence is common with Genital herpes infection. Repeated sexual acts (Masturbation and intercourse) might delay the healing process.
2. You had the history of HPV infection also. If you are able to upload the pictures of the lesion, I may be in a position to tell more about your problem.
3. Dry vagina may be cause for sexual abrasion and the healing of which may be interfered with masturbation and fresh sexual activities.
If you are able to consult your Dermatologist or ID specialist he/she could guide for further investigations and treatment.
